Toy Time. . . A Festive Delight at Almondbury Infants School
EDITORS COMMENTS
. In this heartwarming snapshot from December 3rd, 1988, three young girls take charge of the toy stall at a Christmas fair held at Almondbury Infants School. Eleanor Chivers, Jennifer Chivers, and Laura Emsell radiate excitement as they proudly display an array of toys for sale. The event was made even more special with the presence of Yorkshire cricketer Mr Arnie Sidebottom, who opened the fair alongside his son Dale, a student at the school. The festive atmosphere was palpable as families gathered to enjoy various attractions such as a bring and buy sale and engaging games. The true spirit of giving shone through as proceeds from the event reached an impressive £215. This charming photograph captures not only the joyous faces of these schoolchildren but also represents their commitment to education and community involvement. As we look back on this cherished moment from our yesteryears in Huddersfield's Almondbury district, it serves as a reminder that simple acts like selling toys can make a significant impact on fundraising efforts for schools. Let us cherish these nostalgic memories filled with laughter, camaraderie, and holiday cheer while celebrating the dedication shown by all those involved in making this Christmas fair such a resounding success.
